Secret Service kills gunman firing near White House; bystander wounded

A 21-year-old gunman, identified as Nasir Best, was fatally shot by Secret Service officers after opening fire near a White House checkpoint on Saturday, injuring a bystander. President Trump was inside the White House during the incident and later thanked the Secret Service.
